What is Express Deposit®?
Express Deposit® allows members to deposit checks using the integrated camera on their mobile device. With Express Deposit® you can deposit a check to your savings, checking or loan account.

How do I access Express Deposit®?
Express Deposit® is accessible within the mobile app via the Transfer/Deposit menu in Mobile Banking.  You must have an Android device or iPhone/iPad capable of running the JSC FCU mobile app.

What connection is necessary to use Express Deposit®?
A 3G connection will work for Express Deposit®, however a Wifi or 4G connection will provide better performance.

How do I capture the best check image?

  • Ensure the check is as flat as possible.
  • Place the check against a dark, non-reflective surface.
  • Hold your device as steady as possible when taking the picture.
  • Ensure that the picture taken is clear and captures the entire check, retry the photo if the image is not sufficient quality.
  • Ensure the check is endorsed and write "For Deposit Only" with your member number and account number.
    (ex: For Deposit Only 123456 S75).

Why are deposits held for review?
All Express Deposits® are reviewed prior to posting to your account. This is equivalent to a teller reviewing your check deposit when you come into a branch. If you require immediate credit from your check deposit, please visit a branch and deposit your check with a teller.

After your deposit is reviewed, it will either be credited to the account you indicate when making the Express Deposit®, or it will be rejected.

If your deposit is accepted your account will be credited by the second day, after the date you submitted the Express Deposit®.

If your deposit is rejected we will notify you by email or by phone. Please ensure that both your email address and phone number on file are current.

Can I deposit more than one check at a time?
Yes, you may deposit as many checks as you like. You will need to perform the same steps for each check. If you would like to deposit another check to a different account (for the same member) you can click the "back" button at the top of the app to return to the deposit account selection screen, where you can pick a different account from the drop down.

What do I do with the physical check after I have made my Express Deposit®?
We will use the digital image of the check to credit your account. You must retain the physical check for 30 days in case there are any issues with the image presentment. After 30 days, please void or destroy the physical check.

Are there any limits to the amount of the check I can deposit?
You may deposit checks in amounts up to $2,500. Any check deposited over this amount will be rejected and you will be notified.
