The Electronic Lien and Title Program (ELT) is a paperless method that allows TxDMV and a financial institution or lienholder to exchange vehicle title information electronically. The lienholder stores the electronic record instead of a paper certificate of title. The electronic title is created and held by TxDMV in the state motor vehicle database.
After a loan is paid in full JSC Federal Credit Union will release the title on the 10th business day. A paper certificate of title will be mailed to the member’s address 5-7 business days after the release
Can I pick up my title at the credit union?
JSC Federal Credit Union does not hold your paper titles anymore. You will not be able to pick up your title at our branches. After a loan is paid in full JSC Federal Credit Union will release the title on the 10th business day.
If you require an immediate title release and have paid by guaranteed funds, which include cash, verifiable cashier’s check or wire transfer please sign an Early Title Release Form at your nearest branch location, or email the form to titledepartment @jscfcu.org and the title will be mailed to the address on the account.

Please have your state DMV contact JSC Federal Credit Union by fax (281-488-0549) or email (titledepartment@jscfcu.org) requesting the documents needed for your current registration.
Take the current title to your local tax office to remove the deceased owner from the title. You will be asked to provide a copy of the death certificate, Original Letters Testamentary and (or) Affidavit of Heirship.
I lost my Texas title what would I need to do to get another one?
You may apply for a Certified Copy of Title by filling out the Application for a Certified Copy of Title (VTR-34) available online at www.TxDMV.gov. You can obtain a Release of Lien by calling 281-488-7070 (ask to speak to the title department), email us at titledepartment@jscfcu.org or visiting your nearest branch.

You can add or remove someone on a title by refinancing the loan. You can only add a spouse to the title without paying sales tax. We will need a POA and Government issued ID for the person we are removing or adding.
