Balance Transfers

For balance transfers, member will provide the following creditor information on debts to be paid: financial institution name, payment address, account number and balance.

How to request or change PIN number for VISA Credit Card.

After you receive your Visa Credit Card you will be mailed a letter within 7 business days with an assigned PIN number. If you wish to change the PIN please call the phone number on the letter and give them the Reference number provided. If you have forgotten your PIN contact a JSC FCU Visa Representative to request a PIN be mailed to you.

Application turnaround time

Applications are typically processed within 24 business hours (excluding holidays and weekends).

Complete a JSC FCU application and electronically sign the document using a secure and intuitive online process. Please be aware that this process may verify your identity by asking a series of random "out-of-wallet" questions, which may be created from public record and credit databases.

Application Process

1. Pre-Approval - Apply Online or In-Branch
  • What you will need to provide at application:
    • Personal contact & employment Information
    • Proof of Income
      • W2
      • Pay Check Stub
      • Self Employed: Two years of tax returns
    • Amount Requesting
  • Member will receive a pre-approval letter (email for online apps) from a loan officer/processor. This will be your point of contact for your loan closing.
2. Prior to Loan Closing
  • Member should contact their loan officer to schedule a closing appointment.
3. Loan Closing (available online or in-branch)
  • Documents to bring to closing
    • Balance Transfer Form (if applicable)
  • Member chooses payment options
    • Periodic Payments
    • Electronic Transfer (through eBanking)
  • Member signs loan documents (see page 2 for complete list)


What is the difference between a Credit Card and a Debit Card?

A credit card is a revolving loan account that requires a payment at a later date. A debit card removes funds directly from a checking account.

How old does a member have to be to apply for a Visa Credit Card?

A member must be 18 years of age to enter into a binding contract on a Visa Credit Card. If a member is at least 16 years old, a parent must apply as the co-borrower on the Visa Credit Card application.

How do I apply for a VISA Credit Card?

You may print and return the Visa Credit Card Application at any of our branch locations. You may alsoapply online.

What should I do if I am out of town and my credit/debit card is declined but the funds are available?

If this occurs during business hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST, contact the Visa Department at 1-800-940-0708. If the line is busy and you receive a voice recording, please leave a telephone number where you can be reached during JSC FCU business hours. If you call after hours or during the weekend, please leave a message and your call will be returned on the first available business day.

Can I select my own PIN number for my Visa Credit Card?

A generated PIN number will be sent to you by mail. The mailer will have instructions if you prefer to change your PIN number.

Can I use my Visa Credit Card internationally?

Yes, Visa Credit Cards can be used for international merchant transactions. Please note there is a 1% fee for all international transactions.

When would I use my PIN number with my Visa Credit Card?

A PIN number can be used at an ATM, this is considered a cash advance.

Is there a limit amount for a cash advance on a Visa Credit Card?

No, there is not a limit on a cash advance provided the credit limit is available. However, there are limits set on an ATM withdrawal. These limits are set by the financial institution and can vary from ATM to ATM.

Can I use my VISA Credit Card to get cash at an ATM?

Yes, you can use your VISA Credit Card at any ATM. You will be issued a PIN when you receive your credit card.

How do I dispute a charge(s) that appears on my Visa Credit Card?

For your convenience a dispute form is available on the back of your monthly Visa Credit Card statement. You may also provide us a letter detailing your dispute or you can download the form off of eBanking.

Can I use Electronic Bill Payment to make a payment on my credit card?

Yes, you can pay your credit card bill through our Online Payment Center or any system of your choice.

When is my Visa Credit Card payment due?

Payment is due 25 days after the cycle date of your statement. Monthly payments are due on the 19th or 20th.

When is my Visa payment available to use?

Visa payments are available on the next business day. For example, if a payment is made on Monday, it will be available on Tuesday. However, if a payment is made on a Friday, it will available on Monday.

Where do I send my Visa Credit Card payments?

Your payments should be mailed to: JSC Federal Credit Union P.O. Box 58346, Houston, TX 77258. You may make your payment at a branch location or online through eBanking.

How do I remove an authorized user from my Visa account?

The primary member will need to complete and sign a short form and surrender the authorized user's card at that time. To remove an authorized user, please complete the VISA Credit Card: Request to Remove Authorized User form found on the Forms & Documents page under Account Forms.

What do I do if I need an additional card?

One card is issued per person. To request a card for an authorized user please complete the VISA Credit Card: Request for an Additional Credit Card form found on the Forms & Documents page under Account Forms.

What is the maximum limit on a JSC FCU VISA Credit Card?

The maximum limit we offer is $30,000.00.

How do I contact your credit card services if I am out of the country?

VISA maintains toll free numbers for many countries outside of the United States, please call 1.866.416.5686 or 1.800.VISA.911.

How do I activate my new Visa Credit Card?

To activate your new card call the 800-number printed on the sticker on the front of your card. You cannot activate a credit or debit card online.

What number do I call after business hours to report a lost or stolen Visa Credit Card?

To report a lost or stolen Visa Credit Card, call 866.692.9364. During regular business hours contact the VISA department at 281.488.7070 or 800.940.0708. To report a lost or stolen VISA check card, please call 800.528.2273. How long does it take to get a New VISA Credit Card?

After your order a card, it will arrive between 7 to 10 days.

When will I receive my reissued VISA Credit Card?

Reissued VISA Credit Cards are mailed by the 15th of the previous month your card expires.

My VISA Credit Card has expired and I have not received my new card yet?

If your VISA Credit Card has expired and you have not received a new card, please contact the VISA department at 1.800.940.0708.

How do I access my Visa Credit Card through electronic services?

You may access you credit card through eBanking  24/7/365.
