1. Balance Transfers

For balance transfers, member will provide the following creditor information on debts to be paid: Financial Institution Name, Payment Address, account number and balance

2. Application turnaround time

Applications are typically processed within 24 business hours (excluding holidays and weekends).

3. eSigning available

Complete a JSC FCU application and electronically sign the document using a secure and intuitive online process. Please be aware that this process may verify your identity by asking a series of random "out-of-wallet" questions, which may be created from public record and credit databases.

Application Process

1. Pre-Approval - May apply Online or In-Branch
  • What you will need to provide at application:
    • Personal contact & employment Information
    • Proof of Income
      • W2
      • Pay Check Stub
      • Self Employed: Two years of tax returns
    • Amount Requesting
  • Member will receive a pre-approval letter (email for online apps) from a loan officer/processor. This will be your point of contact for your loan closing.
2. Prior to Loan Closing
  • Member should contact their loan officer to schedule a closing appointment.
3. Loan Closing (available online or in-branch)
  • Documents to bring to closing
    • Balance Transfer Form (if applicable)
  • Member chooses payment options
    • Periodic Payments
    • Electronic Transfer (through eBanking)

What should I do if I am out of town and my credit/debit card is declined but the funds are available?

If this occurs during business hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST, contact the Visa Department at 1-800-940-0708. If the line is busy and you receive a voice recording, please leave a telephone number where you can be reached during JSC FCU business hours.

If you call after hours or during the weekend, please leave a message and your call will be returned on the first available business day.

How old does a member have to be to apply for a Visa credit card?

A member must be 18 years of age to enter into a binding contract on a VISA credit card. 

Yes, on the application you will select your own four digit pin number. The VISA Check (Debit) Card and ATM Card Application is located on the Forms & Documents page under Application.

Can I use my Visa Credit Card internationally?

Yes, VISA Credit Cards can be used for international merchant transactions. Please note there is a 1% fee for all international transactions.

What is the difference between a Credit Card and a Debit Card?

A credit card is a revolving loan account that requires a payment at a later date. A debit card removes funds directly from a checking account.

When would I use my pin number with my VISA Credit Card?

A pin number can be used at an ATM, this is considered a cash advance.

Is there a limit amount for a cash advance on a VISA credit card?

No, there is not a limit on a cash advance provided the credit limit is available. However, there are limits set on an ATM withdrawal. These limits are set by the financial institution and can vary from ATM to ATM.

Can I use my VISA credit card to get cash at an ATM?

Yes, you can use your VISA credit card at any ATM. You will be issued a PIN when you receive your credit card.

How do I dispute a charge(s) that appears on my credit card?

For your convenience a dispute form is available on the back of your monthly credit card statement. You may also provide us a letter detailing your dispute or you can download the form off of eBanking.

What is the minimum payment for my Visa credit card?

The payment is calculated at 3.5% of the daily average balance.

Can I use Electronic Bill Payment to make a payment on my credit card?

Yes, you can pay your credit card bill through our Online Payment Center or any system of your choice.

When is my VISA payment due?

Payment is due 25 days after the cycle date of your statement. Monthly payments are due on the 19th or 20th.

When is my VISA payment available for use?

VISA payments are available on the next business day. For example, if a payment is made on Monday, it will be available on Tuesday. However, if a payment is made on a Friday, it will available on Monday.

Why am I being charged cash advance interest when I have paid the statement balance?

In order to stop the cash advance interest, your VISA must be paid to zero. On that day the interest stops accruing. For example, if you did a cash advance on the 1st of the month and pay the balance to zero on the 15th of the month, your interest stops accruing. However, on the closing date, which is the 25th of every month, interest will be posted for the 15 days the money was borrowed.

Can I make my credit card payment at Western Union?

Yes, you can make a payment through Western Union.

Where do I send my credit card payments?

How do I remove an authorized user from my Visa account?

The primary member will need to complete and sign a short form and surrender the authorized user's card at that time. To remove an authorized user, please complete the VISA Credit Card: Request to Remove Authorized User form found on the Forms & Documents page under Account Forms.

What is my PIN Number?

Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a security code that allows us to verify that a request to access your account is authorized by you. Your confidential PIN prevents unauthorized use and ensures complete security when making transactions on your accounts.

I forgot my PIN. Can I have it reset?

Yes, contact a Member Services representative at 281.488.7070 or 800.940.0708 to have your PIN reset.

Is there a charge to get a new PIN number for a VISA credit card?

There is no charge.

What do I do if I need an additional card?

One card is issued per person. To request a card for an authorized user please complete the VISA Credit Card: Request for an Additional Credit Card form found on the Forms & Documents page under Account Forms.

What is the maximum limit on a JSC FCU VISA Credit Card?

The maximum limit we offer is $20,000.00.

How can I get my VISA credit card limit back?

You will need to reapply for a new VISA after 6 months of current payments.

How do I replace my credit card?

To replace your credit card contact the VISA department at 1.800.940.0708

Is there a fee to order a new VISA credit card?

No, we do not impose a fee.

If I order a card because it is damaged, will my current card work?

Once the new card is ordered, the damaged card will not work. When you receive the new card in the mail you must call and activate it.

How do I activate my new card?

To activate your new card call the 800-number printed on the sticker on the front of your card. You cannot activate a credit card online.

What number do I call after business hours to report a lost or stolen credit or debit card?

To report a lost or stolen VISA credit card, call 866.692.9364. During regular business hours contact the VISA department at 281.488.7070 or 800.940.0708.

How long does it take to get a new VISA card it is lost or stolen?

After your order a new card it will arrive between 7 to 10 days.

When will I receive my reissued VISA card?

Reissued VISA cards are mailed by the 15th of the previous month your card expires

My VISA card has expired and I have not received my new card yet?

If your VISA card has expired and you have not received a new card, please contact the VISA department at 1.800.940.0708.

How do I access my credit card through electronic services?
