Wire Transfers

A wire transfer is a one-time electronic transfer from one financial institution to another. 

Incoming Wire – Incoming wires are processed from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday. If your wire is received outside of these hours, it will be processed the following business day. Please keep in mind that processing time can vary based on the financial institution that is sending the wire and any applicable cut-off times.

Incoming wires are free to receive for personal accounts, or $5 per wire if received to a business account.

To receive a wire, you will need to provide the sender with the following information:

  • Institution Name: JSC Federal Credit Union
  • Institution Address: 1330 Gemini Houston, TX 77058
  • Institution ABA Routing Number: 313083992
  • Member Name: Your Name, as it appears on your JSC FCU account
  • Member Address: Your address, as it appears on your JSC FCU account
  • Member Account Number: Your full JSC FCU account number

Outgoing Wire Transfers – To request an outgoing wire transfer, please contact our trained specialists for assistance at 281.488.7070. (Select Option 4-Member Service, Option 2-Existing Member, and Option 4-Wire). To send a wire, you will need to provide the JSC FCU with the following information:

  • Receiving Institution’s Name
  • Institution ABA Routing Number
  • Recipient's Name & Address
  • Recipient's Account Number

Outgoing wire requests are processed from 9 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday. If your wire transfer request is received outside of these hours, it will be processed the following business day. Please keep in mind that processing time can vary based on the financial institution that is receiving the wire transfer, and any applicable cut-off times. Outgoing wires are $15 if sent to a domestic account and $45 if sent to an international account.

You have the right to cancel a remittance transfer and obtain a refund. To cancel or amend your request, you must contact us by phone within 30 minutes of payment of the transfer: 281.488.7070, select Option 4-Member Service, Option 2-Existing Member, and Option 4-Wire. When you contact us, please provide the following information to help identify the transfer you wish to cancel, including the amount and location where the funds were sent:

  • Recipient's Financial Institution, Routing Number and Name
  • Recipient's Account Number, Name and Address

We will refund your money within three business days of your request to cancel a transfer if the funds have not already been picked up or deposited into a recipient's account. A wire transfer is irrevocable after the 30-minute cancellation window.

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

I am expecting a wire to be deposited in my account. Why don’t I see it?

Processing time can vary based on the financial institution that is sending the wire, and any applicable cut-off times. Wires are received between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. If your wire is received during this time, and the transfer information is correct, we will credit your account once the transfer is received.

I was expecting a wire to be deposited in my account, but I am told it was returned to the originating bank. Why was my incoming wire returned?

Wires are typically returned due to incorrect or missing information. To verify what caused your wire to be returned, please call 281.488.7070, and one of our trained specialists will assist you.

My account shows a transaction for “Retuned Wire.” Why was my outgoing wire returned?

Wires are typically returned due to incorrect or missing information. To verify what caused your wire to be returned, please call 281.488.7070 and one of our trained specialists will assist you.

Can JSC FCU provide me proof that my wire transfer was completed?

Yes. JSC FCU can send you a confirmation of your wire transfer via email, eBanking secure messages, or text message.

This confirmation does not mean a wire may not be returned by the receiving institution but can serve as proof that the transfer was completed.

Can I send a transfer to a financial institution in any country?

JSC FCU is unable to send transfers to all countries at this time. The following countries are unavailable for outgoing wire transfers:

  • Congo
  • Cuba
  • Eritrea
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Libya
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Somalia
  • South Sudan
  • Sudan
  • Syria
  • Ukraine
  • Venezuela
  • Yemen
  • Zimbabwe
Why hasn’t the receiving bank received my wire transfer?

Domestic Wires:

Due to variations in processing time and applicable cut-off times and/or holidays, it may take up to two (2) business days for the funds to be received.

International Wires:

When sending money to another country, it may take up to seven (7) calendar days for the funds to be received. International wires can be traced after the seven (7) day period is over. To request a international wire trace, please contact our specialists at 281.488.7070 for assistance.
